MARBELLA TO HOST THE UIM MOTOSURF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE FIRST TIME

Real de la Quinta – El Lago Club will host the first edition of the world championship in Spain, bringing together around 70 riders from 20 countries worldwide.

Marbella, September 2026 — Marbella will host the UIM MotoSurf World Championship in Spain for the very first time, bringing together the world’s elite riders across the men’s, women’s and junior categories. Around 70 riders from 20 countries are expected to take part in the event, which will be held at the spectacular Real de la Quinta – El Lago Club.

The programme will begin on Thursday, September 10 at 11:00 AM with the official press conference at the historic Hospital Real de la Misericordia in Marbella. This will be followed by the MotoSurf Academy, giving invited students from schools in Marbella and Benahavís the opportunity to learn directly from some of the world’s leading MotoSurf riders.

The academy will feature Lukáš Záhorský, six-time World Champion and double gold medallist at the 2025 World Games; Antony Squire of the USA, the 2025 World Champion; Sára Žuborová of Slovakia, bronze medallist at the 2025 World Games; and Eunjin Lee of South Korea, the 2023 Asian Champion.

Racing will begin on Friday with free practice and qualifying, followed by semi-finals on Saturday and the finals on Sunday, when the world’s best riders will battle for victory in their respective categories.

Fans will also have the opportunity to experience the excitement of MotoSurf at The Point Club on Playa del Pinillo in Marbella, which will host MotoSurf sessions open to the public.

The arrival of the UIM MotoSurf World Championship in Spain for the first time marks an important milestone for the sport and further strengthens Marbella’s position as an international destination for major sporting events.

The event is held with the support of Marbella City Council, the Government of Andalusia and the Provincial Council of Málaga, and with the institutional support of the Royal Spanish Motonautical Federation and the Andalusian Motonautical Federation.
