Minseong Kim rules Stock class in Poland as Fares Ramadhan scores maiden victory

The second stop of the MotoSurf World Championship headed to Poland. In the wonderful resort of Molo in the town of Osiek, the entire top of the world gathered, represented by 96 competitors from a total of 19 countries.

From the Indian Ocean in the United Arab Emirates, relatively calm water awaited the competitors in Osiek, Poland, where everyone could watch the fight for every centimeter on the motorsurf course. As in Fujairah, this Grand Prix is also part of the qualifying phase for the 2025 World Games.

In the Elite class, Jakub Kornfeil rode in great form and won the qualification. The Apex Pilots rider had a difficult start to the season in the Emirates, but he fully recoverd in Poland. In the heats, Matyáš Novotný performed best, starting the final as the leader and defended his role of the favorite. Apex Pilots teammate Alex Lukscheider was steadily closing in on second Kornfeil and took second place eventually – Kornfeil finished third.

In the women’s class, where the racers were compared with drawn engines, another fight was expected between Eliška Matoušková from the Rocket Racing team and Aneta Stloukalová from the Mattech team. Eliška did better in the qualification and so did she in the finals. Aneta Stloukalová took second place, Eliška Charousová finished third.

The Stock category saw the first ever American pole position. Antony Squire found the fastest pace and defeated his biggest rivals Down and Minseong Kims. Antony Squire went into the final as the leader, but in a tough 10-lap race, Minseong Kim managed to find a way ahead of the American and eventually took first place. His compatriot Down Kim fought his way to second place and Antonty Squire finally took the last step of the podium.

Vatcharasak Jantorn from the Rocket Racing team followed up on the victory in Fujairah and mastered the qualification of the Merlin Plus Stock R class in Poland. Behind him, the Czech racer David Krčka flashed and the Kuwaiti Fares Ramadhan took the third place.

However, Thai competitor Vatcharasak Jantorn was struggling with an illness and was not in the best shape. In the final, Denis Dusílek got a great start and took the lead. He was chased by Ramadhan Fares who capitalized on his mistake to take the top spot. It was really close at the finish, but Ramadhan Fares pulled away for his first win in this class. Denis Dusílek finished second and David Krčka took a sensational third place.

Among the juniors, we saw a large number of competitors and also a new team representing the Czech flag – MotoSurf Czech Talent. Sebastian Kostelecký – one of the representatives of the Czech colors – did not find a conqueror in Poland and finished in first place overall. Second place was won by Lukáš Schneider from the Klima Race team, and Adam Kolář – another Czech talent – secured the third place on the podium.

It was a thrilling battle between the girls until the end. Kristýna Hrbková and Slovakian Sára Žuborová fought until the very end – in the end Kristýna was happy with the victory. Sára Žuborová took the second place, and Laura Marková from the Rocket Racing team took the next podium. Young Polish hopeful Rozalia Janora had a great start to the weekend finishing 3rd in the qualification. In the finals, Rozalia exprienced a fall in the split but still managed to recover for 6th crossing the finish line.

Korean Down Kim and Zdeněk Kostelecký were among the favorites in the Masters class. The locals were also waiting for the performance of the home competitor, when Arkadiusz Janora represented the Polish colors. Down Kim confirmed the role of the favorite and crossed the finish line in first in the final. Two Czechs finished right behind him – Zdeněk Kostelecký and Jiří Šťovíček. Home competitor Arkadiusz Janora finished right behind the podium gate in 4th.

In the Grand Prix of Poland there was also a competition of electric surfboards – MotoSurf Electric Challenge. Six-time world champion Lukáš Záhorský made his debut, riding in the colors of Rocket Racing having practically no competition in this race. Belgian Yano Varkersbilck took second place and Michal Uhlár took third place.

The Grand Prix of Poland is now over and we will be looking forward to the next race of the World Power Surfing Championship heading to Sweden at the beginning of August.
