MOTOSURF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CONCLUDED THE GP OF CROATIA

Falkensteiner Resorts in Zadar have been home for the MotoSurf World Championship in Croatia for last four season. This year, when the championship hosted the qualification for the World Games as part of the Championship, 109 racers representing 21 different countries and 3 continents competed in zadar.

Eight different classes including men, women, juniors and electrically powered boards competed in three days program divided into qualifications, heats and finals staged for Sunday Afternoon.

Elite Class – category for men and modified surfboards, showed a breathtaking battle until the end between the two rivals fighting for the championship. The series leader – Matyas Novotny – experienced a technical issue and dropped down last position while Alex Lukscheider started opening a leading gap in the frost. Novotny got back in the mix and managed to close Lukscheider for board on baord battle until the finish line. Alex defended the Championship leader and won the finals. Third place was taken by last GP winner – Lukas Kozon.

In the Stock Class- Korean duo Minseong and Down Kim controlled the Stock Class competition and concluded the weekend in 1st and 2nd respectively. The last podium spot was completed by Kuwaiti speedster Hasan Boabbas who is returned back on the podium.

Women Class is another World Games Category and the spectators around the Borik Beach witnessed another dominating ride from Czech Republic’s Eliska Matouskova who dominated heats and finals. Aneta Stloukalova concluded the weekend in 2nd after second position in heats and finals and Slovakia celebrated the final podium spot seeing Emma Strculova taking the her premiere podium in the Championship.

Merlin Plus Stock R saw international battle for the podium positions. Czech racer Denis Dusilek found the fastest pace around the wavy final in Zadar and marked another victory MSWC victory. Fares Ramadhan from Kuwait rode in a great pace to secure 2nd place while Cypriot representative Mike Michaelides marked a respectful 3rd place after crossing the finish line.

Exprienced riders aged over 40 race in Masters class and it was not an exception in seeing great battles until the end. Arkadiusz Janora from Poland got a great start and opened a leading margin. However, Polish fighter paid a high price for lapping a rider for one lap after missing a buoy and getting a penalty and dropping down into 3rd. This inconvenience opened door for Korean Down Kim to score victory and Apex Pilot’s Martin Tvrz stepped up on 2nd podium step.

Junior Boys and Girls – the fullest category of the entire weekend introduced 24 juniors fighting for the World Championship points. In the Boys section, it was the Czech trio of Lukas Schneider, Sebastian and Mikulas Kostelecky finding their way on the top three podium places. The fastest trio was followed by American Champion Ryder Sawangwan, Stanislav Kohout in 5th and another American Nico Sawangwan.

In the Girls competition, it was the flag of Slovakia waving highest on the podium. Sara Zubora built up on the pace from the Italian GP and brings hope victory also from Croatia. Barbora Kolarova representing Czech Talent Team finished in 2nd and Kristyna Hrbkova concluded the weekend in 3rd.

The fully electric class – MotoSurf Electric Challenge – staged the last race of the championship and decided the 2024’s champion. Lukas Zahorsky proved his speed and dominated the whole weekend for his 7 World Championship title. His compatriot Matej Kozisek finished 2nd in front of Belgium representative Yano Vankersbilck.

The Championship continues in China / Macao on 22nd – 24th Novemeber.
