Top riders of MSWC taste the beauty of Marina Puerto Cancun

The day arrived – MotoSurf World Championship shows up in Cancun, Mexico for the first time in the history. Hot weather conditions, turquoise Caribbean sea and starting grid full of ambitious and hungry riders desiring for the victory. Round 02 welcomed all the 59 riders from all around the world at the beautiful venue of Marina Puerto Cancun in Mexico during the opening day with beautiful sunny and hot weather.

The championship brought here five racing classes in total – the Open Class, Women Class, Junior Class and last but not least Stock and Stock R class.

Open Class – a class full of well-known names in the world of Motosport offering the fastest and most experienced races. Stanislav Kovář (MSR Engines Team) striked to top of the qualifying session for Round 2 of the MotoSurf World Championship in Cancun. Kovář set the fastest lap of 00:53.245 ahead of Nikolas Blaha from HARD Racing Team and a 2017 MSWC Champion Jakub Kornfeil.

The opening runs in Women class turned into a duel between the two Czechs – Aneta Šacherová and Aneta Stloukalová.  Šacherová kept calm and showed another unbeatable performance during the qualifying session stopping the clock on 00:54.766 ahead of Stloukalová exactly by one second. The young rookie of the Women class Eliška Matoušková (MP Sports) made it into the third for tomorrow’s heats.

Down Kim has set the pace in Stock class at the MSWC Cancun. In an impressive qualifying lap by the Korean setting a 00:58.358 in the afternoon qualifying session. Rui Merrals (Xsurf Racing Team) found no improvement during his QP but the time 00:59.481 was good enough for second.

In the Stock R class it was Alex Lukscheider (MSR Group) who was the quickest rookie on the Caribbean sea with the personal best of 00:54.194. One second separated the runner up in the session, Matyáš Novotný (JETSURF HK) posting 00:55.198 and Denis Burda (JETSURF Pardubice) completed the top three.
