MotoSurf steps up to global stage

The trending Motosurf Sport is the latest addition to the UIM’s range of Powerboating disciplines, after UIM President Raffaele Chiulli and Jetsurf Principal Martin Sula sealed a cooperation agreement in the build-up to the 92nd UIM General Assembly in Qingdao (China), which places the Motosurf World Cup under the sporting authority of the International Powerboat Federation UIM.

The MotoSurf Sport combines ultra-light weight Jetsurf race boards with small state-of-the-art engines, either combustion or electric. The UIM Motosurf World Cup consists of five Rounds, staged in Europe, Asia and America and crowns its champions in the two categories Women and Men, competing within the same events.

“We are proud to welcome MotoSurf as a new discipline within the UIM”, said UIM President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli. “This young and very easily accessible Sport fits perfectly in our continued efforts to renew the Powerboat Sport and to offer ever more opportunities to the young generations to join the UIM community”.

MotoSurf World Cup Principals Martin Sula and Jan Zeman expressed their pride and satisfaction for the institutional recognition at global level of this sport they had created. “The integration of Motosurf within the UIM offers our Sport a global platform for growth and promotion, and we very much appreciate the quality of cooperation we have found within the International PowerboatFederation UIM.”
