Novotny extends championship lead in Prague. Zuborova strikes for victory in the finals!

From 24–26 July 2026, Prague’s Hostivař Reservoir hosted the second round of the UIM MotoSurf World Championship (MSWC), the world’s most prestigious MotoSurf racing series. A total of 97 riders representing Europe, Asia, and the Americas travelled to the Czech capital to compete for valuable championship points.

Throughout the race weekend, Hostivař Reservoir delivered thrilling action across all categories, from junior classes and women’s competitions to the elite professional field. Spectators enjoyed spectacular MotoSurf racing, one of the fastest-growing disciplines in international powerboating.

The event offered an unforgettable atmosphere. Before Sunday’s Grand Final, the Czech national anthem was performed by SuperStar finalist Dominika Lukešová, while Jakub Kornfeil and Jakub Mareš carried the national flag across the water in a ceremonial display.

Just before the racing began, the traditional water-opening ceremony took place. Joining Martin Jančálek, MSWC Director, was Karel Vejmelka, NHL goaltender for the Utah Mammoth, who also escorted the Stock category onto the course.

One of the biggest stories of the weekend unfolded in the Stock class. Returning to competition after a break, Lukáš Kozoň produced an outstanding performance, defeating Adam Kolář in a series of breathtaking battles to claim the overall victory.

As always, the Elite category attracted the greatest attention. The class ambassador was Petr Pilát, the legendary freestyle motocross rider. Just as he had done in Turkey, Matyáš Novotný dominated the competition. The Czech rider delivered commanding performances throughout the weekend and deservedly secured victory at the Prague round of the World Championship. Lukáš Záhorský, the reigning World Games gold medalist, finished second, once again confirming his place among the world’s elite.

The Women’s category also produced exciting racing, with the outcome remaining uncertain until the final heats. In the end, Sára Žuborová emerged victorious after an intense duel with Eliška Matoušková.

The Masters classes featured strong international competition as well. In the men’s division, South Korean rider Down Kim confirmed his exceptional quality by adding another victory to his impressive list of achievements. In the Women’s Masters category, his compatriot Eunjin Lee claimed the top step of the podium, completing an outstanding weekend for the South Korean team.

Czech fans also had plenty to celebrate in the junior categories. Prague native Stanislav Kohout claimed victory in the Junior class with an excellent performance in front of his home crowd. In the Junior Girls category, Ellen Burdová took the win, confirming her talent and establishing herself as one of the brightest young prospects in Czech MotoSurf.

Hosting another World Championship round in Prague once again highlighted the Czech Republic’s importance on the international powerboating stage. The country has long been one of the strongest nations in MotoSurf and continues to produce riders capable of competing at the highest international level.

The championship now heads north to Scandinavia, where the Swedish Grand Prix will take place in mid-August in the heart of Stockholm.
