ZÁHORSKÝ BACK ON TOP WHILE ŠACHEROVÁ MAKES THE CROWD CRAZY!
Second round of the UIM MotoSurf WorldCup went to home of JETSURF. The race was hosted on the Dam of Brno City in the Czech Republic. Over 60 riders from 12 different nationalities filled entry list containing 8 world champions from various field of sports.
Spectators had a unique chance to see ice hockey world champion Petr Průcha, RedBull Rookies World Champion Jakub Kornfeil, Superbike World Champion Troy Corser, multiple jetski world champion Anya Colley, WRC Junior Champion Martin Prokop and of course motosurf champoins Aneta Šacherová, Martina Bravencová and Lukáš Záhorský.The weekend was not just about men and women class we are used to. Junior class also found its place in the weekend’s schedule.
Thursday saw qualifying action and it was Jakub Kornfeil coming back to motosurf racing in incredible pace. He posted the fastest qualifying lap time but it was super tight. The gap between the winner and runner – up Lukáš Záhroský was just 0.005 seconds for the closest difference we have ever seen in MotoSurf WorldCup. These two run a different level pace scoring 00:58:771 and 00:58:776 respectively. Home rider Jan Drkoš finished third and current championship leader Petr Průcha concluded the opening day in 4th.
In the women class, Aneta Šacherová found the best way how to pass 28 bouys course. 0.398 lead from Martin Bravencová made her victorious. Monika Zemanová – young skier racing for MSR Engines Team surprised the field with 3rd fastest qualifying lap.
In the heats, it was Jakub Kornfeil undefeated until Friday afternoon and was one of the favorites for the victory. Reigning women class champion Aneta Šacherová showed mistake free Friday ride that made her leading the field after heats programe.
Coming to the finals, it was Lukáš Záhorský taking over the game on the water. Kornfeil started the final heat really good but Záhorský eventually dominated the first finals in front of Jakub Kornfeil and Sebastian Kubinec. He managed to repeat such a great performance also in the second final and secured victory in his hometown. Kubinec was second and Kornfeil took third.
In the women class, Martina Bravencová made a great start in the first finals and took the Malfini first lap award. She continued in rythm for the rest of the laps and took maximum points from the first finals. Šacherová was second and Klára Sitarová aiming for podium finished 3rd.
Victory was the only option for Aneta Šacherová to steal the overall victory. However, It was Klára Sitarová making the best start, taking Malfini First Lap Award and leading the pack. Šacherová was chasing her from second. A crash of Sitarová opened the doors for Aneta who took an overall victory. Bravencová was second and consistent Renata Kelemenová from Slovakia made to the final podium step.
Junior class saw 9 juniors fighting among the buoys. These future champions really impressed the crowd fighting the difficult course in Brno. Eventually, Captain Candy Junior Team‘s Matyáš Novotný was fastest from Stanislav Kovář and Alex Lukscheider.
Their heroes Jonas Folger, Troy Corser and Aneta Šacherová presented the trophies and motivated young guns to future racing development.
The UIM MotoSurf WorldCup continues from 5th – 7th July at Wyboston Lakes, United Kingdom.
